Comptroller Immaculata Nyong has officially assumed leadership of the Port-Harcourt Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, taking over from Comptroller Aliyu Alkali.

While welcoming his successor at the handing-over ceremony on Monday, 28 April 2025, Comptroller Alkali highlighted the command's strategic importance in regulating activities within the Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone.

He said that, under his leadership, the command exceeded its revenue target by 22.9% in the past three months and weeks, a feat he attributed to the dedication of officers and stakeholders.

Expressing his best wishes, Comptroller Alkali urged Comptroller Nyong to build on the Command’s achievements and continue fostering a culture of excellence and compliance.

In her inaugural remarks, Comptroller Nyong appreciated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for entrusting her with the Command's leadership. She also commended Comptroller Alkali for his remarkable service and contributions to the Command’s successes.

"I pledge to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, government agencies, and industry players to strengthen trade facilitation while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks," she assured.

Senior Customs officers, representatives of licensed enterprises, and other stakeholders in the Free Trade Zone community attended the event.
